Teshima Art Museum is the result of a collaboration between artist Rei Naito and architect Ryue Nishizawa.  The structure of the basically empty museum resembles a droplet of water caught in the middle of gliding across a surface.  Openings in the roof allow natural light inside, as well as water--which ends up gliding across the floor.  More info at Domus.  More images courtesy of Iwan Baan here.

Oscar Niemeyer turns 103 today.  This giant of modernism continues to practice from his office based in Rio.  Shown above is his New Museum--the name was later changed to the Oscar Niemeyer Museum--in Brasilia that he completed at the age of 95.  Prolific seems an understatement.
