The New York Times profiles Dennis Wedlick of Barlis Wedlick, whom they call the Passive Pioneer. He' s a leader in the emerging field of passive houses, super-insulated, airtight structures that are incredibly efficient to heat and cool. He also recently installed a New Friends wall hanging in his barn. Rockwell Group designed their new flagship store in Tribeca, which features high ceilings and a 30's-inspired vibe. Located in the dressing room is Chair H by Christian Valdes.

The Nagasaki Chair by Mathieu Matégot is a nice example of his ground-breaking technique.  He was the first to combine tubular steel and perforated sheet metal to make furniture. Here's an old school pic of the chairs in situ at an unknown location. If anyone recognizes this spot, please let us know!
