Aside from the old saying, do you know Shinola? The company holds authentic American craft in high regard and produces an array of products. Rockwell Group designed their new flagship store in Tribeca, which features high ceilings and a 30's-inspired vibe. Located in the dressing room is Chair H by Christian Valdes.

The Nagasaki Chair by Mathieu Matégot is a nice example of his ground-breaking technique.  He was the first to combine tubular steel and perforated sheet metal to make furniture. Here's an old school pic of the chairs in situ at an unknown location. If anyone recognizes this spot, please let us know!

The Archive
, which opened earlier this year in Dubai, is a contemporary library focused on art, culture, design and literature, from the Middle East and North Africa. Takeshi Maruyama designed the interior of the building, which was constructed in 1975. Alvar Aalto's classic Chair 69 provides seating throughout.
