Matter currently accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
Are credit card transactions secure?
Yes. All credit card information sent to mattermatters.com is encrypted for complete security. Once you begin your checkout process everything will go through our secure server.
Can I make a purchase if I do not want to use my credit card online?
Yes. We will be happy to take your order by phone, fax, email or US Post. Please provide us with your credit card number, the verification code on the back of your card and the zip code where the bill is received. Please also provide us with a shipping address. We cannot ship to a PO Box.

Do you send a confirmation e-mail?
Yes. Once your order has been placed you will receive confirmation of your order by e-mail.
What is your return policy?
Product Returns will be accepted for all stock items within 14 days for store credit or exchange only. Damage claims on shipped items must be made within 24 hours of package arrival. Please inspect your purchases immediately upon receipt as no claims can be made after this time.
It is the customer's responsibility to inspect purchase(s) for damages within 24 hours. Matter will allow store credit and exchanges for items with receipt and, if applicable, in the original, intact packaging. All credited returns and exchanges must be in original, unused condition. Return shipping, payment for return shipping and any subsequent damages from return shipping are the responsibility of the purchaser.
All special orders and items made to order are non-refundable. Many of our items are non-stock items. It is the customer's responsibility to contact a Matter sales representative to check on stock and availability. Special orders and items made to order may be cancelled within 24 hours of receipt of payment--a 5% cancellation fee will apply.

Matter credit is valid for one year from the date of issue. Thereafter, unused credit is forfeited.
Can I cancel an order that I placed online?
Yes. There is a 24 hour period from the time that the original order was placed in which you may cancel your order.
Do you have a faster shipping service available?
Yes, your order can be shipped via expedited service, however there is an additional surcharge for this service. Please contact Matter for further details.
Does matter provide gift wrapping?
Yes, please specify that you would like gift wrap at the time you place your order. There is a box for special instructions provided.
What are your shipping and handling charges?
Shipping charges are calculated based on size, weight and ship-to location.
Can I have my online order sent to a different location other than my billing address?
Yes, If you provide us with an alternate shipping address in the US.
Can orders be shipped outside the U.S.?
Matter does not ship outside of the US for orders taken online. Please call us for details at (212) 343-2600.
How is sales tax calculated on orders?
We collect sales tax on all orders shipped to addresses in New York State. Residents in other states are responsible for complying with local state tax laws.
Can I purchase a gift certificate?
Yes. Though at this time gift certificates are not available online. Please call us for details.
How do I redeem a gift certificate?
A gift certificate is just like cash and may only be redeemed in the store.
