Toogood is a London-based design studio founded and led by Faye Toogood. Faye and her team create timeless works of unconventional design, including but never limited to clothing, furniture, interiors and homeware. At the centre of every Toogood project is a restless spirit of experimentation, and a joy taken in process and play. Toogood furniture is bold and sculptural, but always meticulously functional. Key pieces in the range are the iconic plump Roly-Poly in glowing raw fibreglass, the hardy Cobble stools finished in a laboratory-grade ceramic glaze and Gummy, a fully upholstered series with generous, anthropomorphic proportions. All Toogood pieces are handmade by small scale fabricators and expert artisans with an honesty to the chosen material.
Faye’s furniture crosses the boundary into fine art, and has been exhibited at museums including the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the D Museum, Seoul, The National Gallery of Victoria Biennale and Chatsworth House. Works have also been acquired for the permanent collections of several museums including Philadelphia Museum of Art, Dallas Museum of Art, High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Corning Museum of Glass in New York, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and the Vitra Design Museum.
