Matter is pleased to welcome four Belgian-based design studios — Arno Declercq, Julien Carretero, Destroyers/Builders, and Muller Van Severen — in a new group presentation. Drawing inspiration from diverse sources, each studio experiments with varied methods of making to achieve their singular aesthetic. Sculptural and architectural, these objects balance between contemporary and traditional elements with a focus on the space around them. Materials and craft are celebrated. While maintaining a high level of sophistication and thoughtfulness, the furniture, lighting, and objects on display give dimension to four creators who are defining the future of contemporary Belgian design.
