Matter is a New York City based gallery, showroom, and manufacturer, representing a refined selection of national and international contemporary design. The brand is revered as a resource for detecting what lies beyond the horizon in design.

Architects and interior designers around the world look to Matter to take the temperature of the current state of design and to look for inspiration. Matter is not just a place to purchase beautiful things, but also a platform for an ongoing conversation about design by the design community and the public alike. We are currently focused on raising the international perception of contemporary American design through our in-house brand Matter Made and the representation of the very best manufacturers and independent designers working today.


Logistics Manager

Matter is looking a high-level logistics professional. Huge growth-potential for the right candidate. Responsibilites include:

• Oversee the logistics for our mulit-brand showroom as well as our in-house line of production who you will share studio space with
• Manage inbound international shipments via ocean and air freight
• Oversee the timely delivery of orders
• Solution-oriented with the ability to proactively trouble-shoot issues that might impede on-time deliveries or other areas of logistics
• Coordinate Matter & Matter Made shipping schedule with the production team, production manager and external vendors
• Point person for the Matter sales team for all shipping and delivery needs
• Quote domestic and international deliveries for sales team
• Maintain packaging + crating inventory, developing packaging standards
• Receive incoming shipments with our receiving warehouse and expedite deliveries once processed
• Create all necessary documents for outgoing and incoming shipments, international and domestic
• Constructively communicate possibilities for improvement in the shipping process utilizing our intuitive operating system
• Learn and manage fulfillment of stock items from our fulfillment center
• Flexibility to pivot when priorities change and company needs 'all hands on deck'. i.e.: production team needs help with time-sensitive orders or installations at our showroom and gallery
• Position reports to the ceo


• 3-5 years experience in shipping and logistics, including international freight
• Detail-oriented individual who thrives at optimizing procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and manage oversized deliveries
• Proficiency in Excel or Sheets
