Crossed double seat is part of the Future Primitives series that Muller Van Severen present in 2012 at Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk, Belgium. Muller Van Severen reflected on the way people sit towards each other. The duoseat + lamp pushes people to hang out really close without seeing each other. Crossed double seat does exactly the opposite. While the empty space underneath the object is rigidly demarcated, the crossing leather cloths keep it in balance. The seat is made of a steel frame and a natural leather cloth which is sewn to the frame by hand.
