The visual appearance of comfort is articulated through the unusual upholstery of the Quilt series. Designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, the outer layer contains pockets containing individual foam pieces in interlocking shapes. Like a quilt or rug, it is then placed loosely upon a fiberglass shell and steel frame. The Quilt is the antithesis to the formal, structured sofas and seating design we have become familiar with.
