Jacob is a rug with rhythmic, intense shades where spots and streaks follow one another, celebrating nature and its extraordinary, entirely random yet perfect patterns.
Jacob is inspired by two motifs dear to designer Salem van der Swaagh: the spotted fleece of the Jacob sheep – an ancient breed of small, patchy sheep – and the distinctive patterns found on birch tree trunks. The rug captures the details of the sheep's coat, which then merge into the fascinating veins of a birch trunk, appearing in the long fringes at one of its ends.
