Installation S is part of the Future Primitives series that Muller Van Severen present in 2012 at Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk, Belgium. The title of the exhibition inspired Muller Van Severen to think of how people would live in the years to come – probably in smaller spaces. Different design functionalities are combined and juxtaposed in one object, creating a landscape of romantic pure furniture. ‘Installation small’ is a seat, a rack, a table and a lamp together in one object. The object depicts the romantic side of living in a small place. A person sits down and reads a book while his companion is writing on a desk that is placed close by. Books can lay on shelves just above your head and the light of one single lamp is shared. 'There's a lot of furniture but a lot of transparency at the same time'
