Marble bench is part of a set of objects made for the Bahrain pavilion at the World Expo 2015 in Milan. The pavilion was created by the architect Anne Holtrop. For this state-of-the-art project Muller Van Severen designed luxurious objects in their own transparent and minimalist way. Marble has always been one Muller Van Severen's favorite materials. At their first exhibition back in 2011, they presented 'marble box', a study on how different variations of marble would interact when used in one simple framework. The marble bench is a continuation of this research. Again, different kinds of marble are jointed to create a minimalist object with astonishing color tones.
